Stavir ( Zerit, D4T, Generic Stavudine )

Stavudine is used in combination with other antiviral medications to treat human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection in patients with or without acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). Stavudine is in a class of antiviral medications called nucleoside analogue reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs). It works by slowing the spread of HIV in the body. Stavudine does not cure HIV and may not prevent you from developing HIV-related illnesses. Stavudine does not prevent the spread of HIV to other people.Stavudine is also sometimes used in combination with other medications to prevent HIV infection in health care workers or other people who were accidentally exposed to HIV. Talk to your doctor about the possible risks of using this medication for your condition.

Clozaril ( Generic Clozapine )

This medication is used to treat certain mental/mood disorders (schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorders). Clozapine is a psychiatric medication (anti-psychotic type) that works by helping to restore the balance of certain natural substances (neurotransmitters) in the brain.Clozapine decreases hallucinations and helps prevent suicide in people who are likely to try to harm themselves. It helps you to think more clearly and positively about yourself, feel less nervous, and take part in everyday life.How to use Clozaril OralTake this medication by mouth with or without food, as directed by your doctor. If you are taking the tablets that dissolve in the mouth, carefully remove each tablet from the blister pack immediately before taking your dose. Allow the tablets to dissolve on your tongue and swallow. You do not need to take the dissolving tablets with water. Discard any dissolving tablets that have been previously exposed to air due to opened/damaged packaging. Do not save them for your next dose.It is important to begin taking this drug at a low dose, increasing your dose slowly, to lessen side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness and seizures. Follow your doctor's instructions exactly. Your dosage is based on your medical condition and response to therapy. Since clozapine can cause a decrease in white blood cells, you will need to get blood tests done regularly as directed. Be sure to keep all appointments for these laboratory tests.If you miss your doses for longer than a day or two, consult your doctor for a new schedule to get back to the dose you were on (see Missed Dose section). Use this medication regularly in order to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, use it at the same time(s) each day.Do not stop taking clozapine without consulting your doctor. Some conditions may become worse when the drug is suddenly stopped. Your dose may need to be gradually decreased if the doctor decides that you should stop taking this medication.It may take several weeks before the full benefit of this drug takes effect. This medication is used to treat certain mental/mood disorders (schizophrenia or manic/mixed episodes associated with bipolar disorder). It may be used after other medications have not been effective. Ziprasidone is a psychiatric medication (anti-psychotic type) that works by helping to restore the balance of certain natural substances (neurotransmitters) in the brain.This medication can make you feel less nervous and improve your concentration. Cimetidine ( Tagamet, Generic Cimetidine )

Cimetidine is used to treat ulcers of the stomach and intestines and prevent them from coming back after they have healed. This medication is also used to treat certain stomach and throat (esophagus) problems caused by too much stomach acid (e.g., Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, erosive esophagitis) or a backward flow of stomach acid into the esophagus (acid reflux disease/GERD). Decreasing extra stomach acid can help relieve symptoms such as stomach pain, heartburn, difficulty swallowing, persistent cough, and trouble sleeping. It can also prevent serious acid damage to your digestive system (e.g., ulcers, cancer of the esophagus).Cimetidine belongs to a class of drugs commonly called H2 blockers. It works by reducing the amount of acid in your stomach.This medication is also available without a prescription. It is used to treat occasional heartburn caused by too much acid in the stomach (also called acid indigestion or sour stomach). It is also used to prevent heartburn and acid indigestion caused by certain foods and beverages. Stopping treatment too early may delay the healing process.If you are using nonprescription cimetidine for self-treatment of acid indigestion or heartburn, take 1 tablet by mouth with a glass of water as needed. To prevent heartburn, take 1 tablet by mouth with a glass of water right before or up to 30 minutes before eating food or drinking beverages that cause heartburn. Do not take more than 2 tablets in 24 hours unless directed by your doctor. Do not take for more than 14 days in a row without talking with your doctor.Inform your doctor if your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen.

If you have any questions, consult your doctor or pharmacist.Apply this medication to the affected area once a day, usually 2-5 times weekly for 6-16 weeks or as directed by your doctor. The dosage and length of treatment are based on your specific skin problem and response to therapy.Do not apply this medication into the eyes, nose, mouth, or vagina. If you get this medication in those areas, flush with plenty of water. If irritation occurs, contact your doctor immediately.Use this medication regularly in order to get the most benefit from it. Atrovent Nasal Aq Aero ( Generic Ipratropium Bromide )

Atrovent Nasal Aqueous relieves the symptoms of a persistent runny nose. A runny nose is a typical symptom of the condition known as rhinitis. Rhinitis may be caused by allergies, the common cold, or other stimuli such as temperature changes or food.Atrovent Nasal Aqueous relieves a runny nose by acting directly on the mucous glands of the nose to decrease watery secretions.Atrovent Nasal Aqueous is known as an anticholinergic medicine. It belongs to one of several types of medicines used to treat the symptoms of rhinitis.How to use Atrovent NaslRead the Patient Information Leaflet provided by your pharmacist before you start using this medication and each time you get a refill. If you have any questions regarding the information, consult your doctor or pharmacist.Spray this medication in your nose, usually 2 sprays in each nostril 2 or 3 times a day as directed by your doctor. The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to therapy. Do not use ipratropium more often or for longer than prescribed.Avoid spraying in or near the eyes. If this accidentally occurs, flush your eyes with cool tap water for a few minutes. Contact of ipratropium with the eyes may cause temporary blurred vision and sensitivity to light that may last several hours. Tell your doctor immediately if you experience blurred vision or eye pain.The first time you use this medication, you must prime the bottle to make sure that the proper dose is delivered. Remove the dust cap and safety clip. Hold the bottle upright and point the tip away from your eyes. Place your thumb at the bottom of the bottle and your middle and index finger on either side of the spray tip. Press down firmly and quickly on the sprayer about 7 times until the spray appears. The device will have to be reprimed with 2 pumps if it has not been used for more than a 24 hour period. If the device is not used for more than 7 days, prime it again with 7 pumps.To use this medication, first gently blow your nose to clear the nasal passages. Tilt your head forward, close one nostril by placing a finger against the side, and gently insert the spray tip into the other nostril. Point the tip toward the back and outer side of the nostril. Squeeze the bottle to deliver the spray. Sniff deeply in through the nostril, then breathe out through your mouth. Remove the spray tip from your nose and tilt your head back for a few seconds. Deliver the second spray the same way, then repeat this procedure for the other nostril. Replace the cap and safety clip on the bottle.If the sprayer gets clogged, hold the nasal tip under warm running tap water for one minute. Dry the nasal tip, reprime, and replace the cap and safety clip.Drink a glass of water or juice after using this medication to help relieve irritated throat or bad taste in the mouth.Use this medication regularly in order to get the most benefit from it. Remember to use it at the same times each day. Although you may feel better after the first day of use, it may take up to 2 weeks before the full benefit of this drug takes effect.

Loridin ( Alavert, Claritin, Generic Loratadine )

Loratadine is used to temporarily relieve the symptoms of hay fever (allergy to pollen, dust, or other substances in the air) and other allergies. These symptoms include sneezing, runny nose, and itchy eyes, nose, or throat. Loratadine is also used to treat itching and redness caused by hives. However, loratadine does not prevent hives or other allergic skin reactions. Loratadine is in a class of medications called antihistamines. It works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms.Loratadine is also available in combination with pseudoephedrine (Sudafed, others). This monograph only includes information about the use of loratadine alone. If you are taking the loratadine and pseudoephedrine combination product, read the information on the package label or ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.Loratadine comes as a syrup (liquid), a tablet, and a rapidly disintegrating (dissolving) tablet to take by mouth. It is usually taken once a day with or without food. Follow the directions on the package label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take loratadine exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than directed on the package label or recommended by your doctor. If you take more loratadine than directed, you may experience drowsiness.If you are taking the rapidly disintegrating tablet, follow the package directions to remove the tablet from the blister package without breaking the tablet. Do not try to push the tablet through the foil. After you remove the tablet from the blister package, immediately place it on your tongue and close your mouth. The tablet will quickly dissolve and can be swallowed with or without water.Do not use loratadine to treat hives that are bruised or blistered, that are an unusual color, or that do not itch. Call your doctor if you have this type of hives.Stop taking loratadine and call your doctor if your hives do not improve during the first 3 days of your treatment or if your hives last longer than 6 weeks. If you do not know the cause of your hives, call your doctor.If you are taking loratadine to treat hives, and you develop any of the following symptoms, get emergency medical help right away: difficulty swallowing, speaking, or breathing; swelling in and around the mouth or swelling of the tongue; wheezing; drooling; dizziness; or loss of consciousness. These may be symptoms of a life-threatening allergic reaction called anaphylaxis. If your doctor suspects that you may experience anaphylaxis with your hives, he may prescribe an epinephrine injector (EpiPen).
